“I support Main Street Moves to ensure a pedestrian friendly zone that welcomes visitors and Venturans alike to leisurely enjoy the historic Downtown District in a safe corridor for all constituents.”
Father Tom Elewaut, San Buenaventura Mission
“I see the potential of what Ventura will be if we all work together to have it become what it’s supposed to be.”
Sky Sunner, Happy Place Eatery
“It’s good for business. Ventura is a destination, visitors love the freedom of strolling down Main Street without traffic. Where else can you do that?”
Susan Malloy, Rosie Lee Imports
“It seems self-evident that a downtown pedestrian mall improves the quality of life for the citizens of Ventura and our visitors. There is no pain in change…. only in our resistance to it.”
Guitar48
“The MSM closure has helped my business by having more foot traffic and allowing people that walk the length of Main Street to discover my business. Clients have shared with me that they feel safer as they walk on Main Street without vehicles to worry about, no rushing to cross the street to continue shopping and/or eating. Additionally, having restaurants outdoors give Venturans a relaxing sense of being “on vacation”. In addition to discovering new shops they didn’t know were available, the MSM closure has created a sense of safety, community and harmony for all of us, businesses and citizens alike. I envision great potential economic growth for downtown Ventura. In conclusion, I would like to say that we need to move forward. I urge you not to be afraid of change and I ask you to represent and be the voice of your constituents and stand up to the bullies.
Martha Cantos, Ecugreen
Myself and staff really enjoy having the street closed. We do support main street moves.”
